aerielpembroke: (aeriel)
Welcome, Yuletide writer and anyone else wandering by! My AO3 name is Aeriel, and I love all these canons, so no matter which we have in common, I'm excited. Generally speaking I'm open to stories of all ratings, gen, f/f, m/m or f/m. I have mostly been using my DW journal for letter writing for various exchanges which may or may not be of use to you, depending on the fandom, and I haven't been terribly active at that.

Some general DNWs that may or may not be likely to come up in the contexts of these fandoms: body horror, public humiliation, addiction in general but especially involving alcohol/drugs (I don't mind characters having a casual drink once or twice), cancer and other long-term serious illness, graphic non-con/rape, characters getting dumped 'for their own good', zombies, cruelty to animals, characters aggressively pursuing someone romantically who genuinely has no interest in them.

Blossom Culp Series- Richard Peck
Blossom Culp, Alexander Armsworth

I adore this series and rediscover it every few years or so. I think my favorite is still Blossom Culp and the Sleep of Death, which was the first one I picked up as a kid, though I also have a soft spot for The Ghost Belonged To Me.

As great as it is when Blossom has to drag Alexander kicking and screaming into an adventure, it'd be nice to see Alexander stumble into a ghost or haunting or other supernatural problem himself again and have to grudgingly ask for Blossom's help or work it out on his own. Or perhaps Blossom leaves town, makes good, and when she runs into Alexander again he's shocked to realize he's happy to see her again (and might even be willing to attempt some romance? Optional but appreciated!) Or Blossom goes abroad someplace with a slightly different local perspective on spirits and becomes unexpectedly sought after? I'd love to see an adult Blossom who's found her calling, and an Alexander who's grown something of a backbone and figured himself out a bit more, but I'd be just as happy to see more of them as awkward teenagers! I will say that I'd prefer a story that didn't focus too heavily on the upcoming World Wars-- you don't have to ignore them if you pick a time frame where they'd logically be part of life but I'd rather not receive a war or soldier story, if that makes sense.

Kushiel's Legacy- Jacqueline Carey
Alcuin nó Delaunay, Sidonie de la Courcel

I'll start by saying I picked two of my favorites whose paths never cross in canon, and though I'd especially love to see how they might play off each other, it's all right by me if you want to focus more heavily on one than the other.

Alcuin is a favorite of mine for 'what if' AU scenarios, both because I find him such an interesting, sympathetic character and because he was killed off so early in canon that there's much he didn't get to do. So however you choose to keep him alive, I'd like to see him survive and thrive in ways beyond being Delaunay's lover.

I also love Sidonie in all her prickly glory, and though she gets a much better deal altogether than Alcuin, I have always wanted to read something about her dealing with the aftermath of Carthage. Aside from that, I know Ysandre once remarks that she would have liked to have met Alcuin. Perhaps if Alcuin lived, and he and Ysandre got along, Alcuin might have become a tutor to Sidonie? Or perhaps Alcuin might have disappeared from public life for some time, only to return to court when Sidonie is old enough to be a player in her own intrigues? Or if you have some other idea for an Alcuin & Sidonie or Sidonie & Alcuin story or adventure, absolutely go ahead and write it!

That said, I'll add that I'd rather not see Alcuin/Sidonie as a romantic or sexual relationship, though if you want to include romantic/sexual relationships I'm open to Alcuin/Barquiel, Alcuin/Joscelin (preferably in a world where Phèdre/Joscelin didn't happen), Alcuin/Raphael Murain no Gentian, Sidonie/Imriel, Sidonie/Amarante, Sidonie/Maslin and past/referenced Alcuin/Anafiel Delaunay + Alcuin's canonical patrons.

モノノ怪 | Mononoke (Anime & Manga)
Medicine Seller

I really enjoyed watching this anime for the first time this year, and I just loved the style and the almost anthology-like format. So I'd be delighted to get another spooky/sad/dramatic tale, whether it be totally standalone or feature the return of Kayo or another supporting character from one of the episodes but I'd also be delighted to see something like the Medicine Seller encountering less harmful supernatural phenomena or in a different era from the ones we see him in canonically, since we know that time marches on but he doesn't seem to change. Does the Medicine Seller ever encounter anyone else like him, or pretending to be like him with a more wicked agenda?

I find all sorts of youkai and other Japanese supernatural phenomena intriguing and I'm always up for learning about new ones as well as reading about old favorites but if you're at all wondering where to start I'd love a story featuring kitsune or inugami (you may allude to animal harm with this one, though I'd prefer no graphic descriptions) or tatarimokke or ikiryō or ungaikyō.
