Some anons expressed interest in a friending meme, and since I for one always mean to participate in those but never manage to get around to posting, as an incentive and also because I don't mind "outing" myself... here we are!

This is a friending meme for fail_fandomanon. I also put up a post on LJ at http://ladyairy.livejournal.com/57859.html. I would do one for tumblr too, except that I still have no clue how tumblr works. Sorry!

Hey, that sounds pretty good to me, particularly compared to all the terrible people she could potentially end up with. And also I heart Margary and the Tyrells so.

I think the usual interpretation of Margaery/Sansa in fandom is about kind, supportive love based in mutual admiration of feminine beauty and goodness, and uses Margaery's pity as a form of deliverance for Sansa? That's not hard at all to take from GoT's depiction of their relationship-- the some like pretty girls line, Olenna and Margaery's sympathy in the garden scene (I love Olenna!)-- but I'm fond of a little more intentional manipulation and profit motive on Margaery's part, her desire to be queen/be powerful outweighing her pure altruism, and a little more discomfort from Sansa that isn't just her worrying she's not good enough because she knows how she can be used. (Sorry, it's been a couple years since I read ASOIAF, I can't remember how their interactions play out there.)

What's your ideal scenario for Sansa? :D

Interesting, I think I've actually seen a bit more of manipulative Margaery coming from the GoT side of fandom! Then again I feel like I see more het from the book fandom, with some interesting exceptions.

Hmm... I try not to get myself too locked into a particular idea of what I want to happen for fear I'll somehow jinx it out of being, but I definitely want Sansa to off Littlefinger and reunite with as many of her siblings as possible. I like the idea of Sansa and Dany getting on, and Sansa being an advisor (and perhaps lover). I think Sansa in Dorne would be really interesting but also probably never going to happen. I think I once threw out the idea of Aegon/Sansa, but I don't remember if I had an idea in mind for how they would get together, other than thinking it would be funny if a prince (or "prince") actually ended up being a positive force in Sansa's life.

Aegon/Sansa is metaphorically really cool (I've never thought of that before!), although I suspect Aegon's going to bite it. And aaah, Sansa and Myrcella could both have happy lives in Dorne if only GRRM were ever likely to give it to them.

Same. I think there's much more femslashy subtext in the show with her: I'd almost forgotten there was a character named Margaery in ASOIAF until I saw her on GoT, where she gives Sansa roses and tells her that some girls like other girls and touches her hair and walks with herin the garden coaxing out Sansa's dreams, wearing an impish unreadable smile 99% of the time and something sweeter and sorrier in a few flashes. I went uh, wow, thank you show, and immediately started concocting Margaery-falls-a-little-bit-for-Sansa-while-manipulating-her scenarios while most of the fandom interested in femslash went for Sansa/Margaery/bona fide love. Or sometimes Sansa/Daenerys as saving grace.

Yeah, I feel like some really interesting stuff could be done with Aegon, but he's probably just going to be another casualty of Dany's dragons.

I have a weird affinity for Cersei that developed sometime in the later books once bad stuff really started happening to her. I think she's a total nut but a really entertaining one, and I'm convinced she and Jaime are going to have a dramatic showdown where Jaime kills her and then possibly kills himself.

I like Brienne okay but I was really into her dynamic with Catelyn ): God, I remember being so unprepared when I read Catelyn's death scene- like I might have even seen a spoiler that she died but pushed it firmly out of my head because noooo. Catelyn was so wonderfully committed to getting things done.

Hmmm. Arianne is cool, but I've kind of forgotten a lot about her. I feel like maybe the only person who really cares about Bran, even if he is destined to become a tree. And then there's so many minor characters in ASOIAF that the really dedicated fans bring up but I've totally forgotten since I only read them cover to cover once.
